Logistics

Procurement logistics

Procurement logistics deals with the entire material and information flow from supplier to hagebau partner, central warehouse and construction site. The emphasis however is not on the supply of construction sites.

The so-called three phase concept is constantly pushed on by the hagebau logistics experts. Their aim is to replace the existing supplier-driven logistics with a hagebau-driven one. At the same time, they are striving towards obtaining A and B prices: A prices meaning “ex works” prices or mere purchase prices, while B prices reflect the costs for logistics resulting from transporting goods to the central warehouses or the hagebau partner locations.

In addition, the Soltau experts are looking for the optimal supply route for partial loads, full loads and piece goods via combined quantities, cross-docking and trans-shipment processes. Optimising transport charges and supply routes by applying standardised cargo networks in the courier, express and parcel service is another important task carried out by the hagebau logistics department.

Transport management and controlling

Transport managers and transport purchase agents are responsible for all aspects of national and international freight traffic. They focus on analysing, implementing, optimising and contracting.

Their main tasks are:

  • optimisation, determination and implementation of transportation projects (by land and sea)
  • building up expertise in purchasing national and international freight and logistics services
  • optimising supply routes by negotiating freight conditions for direct delivery
  • observing current freight and demand rates on the logistics market
  • introducing and implementing sustainable transport management standards
  • transportation tendering (RFI, RFQ, Who we are and what we want)
  • negotiating new and optimising existing national and international transportation contracts, agreements and logistics service contracts
  • developing and introducing a transparent logistics benchmark

Information logistics and controlling

The hagebau logistics department deals with the entire IT structure. These structures are developed, analysed, optimised and made transparent. It is the Soltau experts’ aim to create clear and standardised IT structures comprising EDI components such as ordering, delivery confirmation via SSCC (serial shipping container code), notification of goods received and invoicing.

Distribution and warehouse logistics

In the context of improving warehouse processes, the logistics department supports hagebau partners in selecting and tendering warehouse management systems. The services include:

  • gathering of current processes
  • deducting possible target processes
  • generating detailed tender documents
  • evaluating incoming tenders

Furthermore, the Soltau experts offer seminars dealing with topics like “Efficient work organisation in specialist trade warehouses” to logistics and warehouse managers working for hagebau partners. Participants become acquainted with methods and useful tools to make work organisation and processes in their warehouses even more efficient.

Top theme: cargo securing equipment

Over and over again cargo falling from freight vehicles causes spectacular accidents. The logistics team provides hagebau partners with comprehensive information on cargo securing equipment.
